Courthouse Hotel & Sydney Tower

On our way back from the bank, we detoured around and found a lovely old pub called the Courthouse Hotel. With the temperature at 29c and 85% humidity in the blazing sunshine (don't you hate when that happens), we popped in for a cold one and a bit of Keno. Had lunch, a drink, and found ourselves comfortably enjoying the Aussie pub atmosphere. I won $4.00 so there! Oh, by the way Davy, Victoria Bitters is an excellent beer. Thanks for the tip.

The smells of this city and its gum trees are so different. The sounds of the birds are enchanting. So amazing and special. We are still a bit in disbelief that we are actually here.

Sydney Tower
What can I say? I brought my thesaurus but even that won't do it justice. We went for dinner and had the entire revolving restaurant to ourselves for about 20 minutes. The view was absolutely breathtaking. The meal was delicious. We started with scallops on a bed of bacon salsa and pea puree, followed by snapper with squid inked risotto. We had a Yarra Valley Cab Sauv, followed by a Margaret River Semillion Sauv Blanc. And to finish off this lovely indulgence, we chose the Stone fruit with prune cake for dessert, expecting a cross between a spikey mango and avacado type fruit, well, we were somewhat surprised and dismayed to find that it was a simple poached peach!!! Ha ha!! Loved it...
