Sydney walkabout

A good 6 hours stroll through Sydney's finest sights. After a light breakfast at the buffet in the hotel we headed out for the harbour sights.
Our first destination was a park that is full of Bird of Paradise plants that we wanted to photograph. So off we went. In this garden lives some rather large and interesting spiders. see photo...

Our next destination is one of the highlights of Sydney, Hyde Park. A great central city park fully utilized by the people down town. Well treed and well kept, a welcome respite from the heat of the city.

One of the hotels we had originally planned to stay in was the Australian hotel in the Rocks district, (right below the harbour bridge). We went there for their specialty, salt water crocodile and kangaroo pizza. Yum Yum!!

Off again and up to the Harbour bridge for a couple of tourist shots. Then to Circular Quay and the Opera house and the botanical gardens. Then back to the centre of town for a mono rail ride around the business district.

We are off tonight for an Italian dinner before packing for the move tomorrow into the motorhome and off to Katoomba. Check Google earth or Google maps for the location.

ps: Ellis we have some beer caps for you. and Paul I have your ball cap.

ta for now

  2. I saw the gnome right away. What's up with that? You must have done a lot of research to prep for this trip as you are so organized. BTW, our humidity is also about 85% but just a few degrees cooler (lol) and the crazy stormy March winds were back again this morning. You're not missing much here!

  3. Gorgeous pictures :) I don't have words for my envy as I take a break from marking to look out at the rainy afternoon... it looks so completely lovely there. Also, crocodile and kangaroo on one pizza? Was it as delicious as I'm imagining?

Keep safe. I look forward to reading all about the motorhome adventure :)
