Silverton

Silverton is a small ghost town about 25kms north of Broken Hill. We went there because we were told it was really cool and that the Mad Max movies had been shot out there.
When we turned onto the small narrow highway that takes you out there, we could both just imagine Mel Gibson (Mad Max) flying in his Interceptor car up the road and over the many many many dips and curves that made the scenes so cool. It was awesome!!!
We went to a lookout just past the town where we were told they shot the tanker roll over scene in Mad Max II. So cool.

Interceptor and a couple buggy's from the Mad Max movies.

Two Emus driving? Not sure what movie this car was used in.

 Bloody flies!!  Disgusting!!

This is the hill where they filmed the famous 'tanker roll over' scene in Mad Max II

Landscape just outside of Silverton... So barren...  So beautiful....

OBJECTS IN MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR!!

Silverton was a great place to see the desert for the first time. It was stinking hot and we began to have our first experience with the flies. There was lots of old touristy type shops and a Mad Max museum. This has been such an incredible adventure so far.
