Sunrise at Uluru

We got up at 5:30 and prepared to go to Uluru to see the sunrise. By the time we set out, almost half the caravan park had emptied ahead of us with the same intention. When we got to the gate to enter the park, we were about 30th in line. We got through and headed towards Uluru around 6:18am. It's about 9kms from the caravan park and about 4.5kms from the entrance of the park. We found our spot to stop on the side of the road behind a small group tour van and got out to wait for sunrise. The tour leader asked if we had any spoons to lend for their cereal breakfast and in trade she would give us some banana bread. It was a great trade. Although, we had to wait around quite a bit for the spoons to be used and returned. We got our sunrise pictures and headed off to see the rest of Uluru before we headed off to Wycliffe Well. It was very moving to be so close to this beautiful monstrosity. The climb is very dangerous. I repeat, very dangerous. I am so glad we did not do it... Hopefully these pictures will explain.
